BREAKING: Former U.S. Ambassador That Disputed Intelligence That Led to Iraq Invasion Dies
Former U.S. Ambassador Joe Wilson, who disputed U.S. intelligence that was used to justify the invasion of Iraq, has died at the age of 69.
Wilson reportedly died Friday due to organ failure at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The former diplomat traveled to Niger to investigate allegations that Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein had tried to purchase uranium, later alleging that the Bush administration had twisted intelligence on Iraq to justify the conflict.
Wilsons ex-wife, Valerie Plame, later had her identity as a CIA operative leaked in a scandal that led to the conviction of vice presidential aide Scooter B. Libby. Libby was pardoned in 2018.
