No, if you are impeached and convicted, you can never hold federal office again. That is one of the reasons post-impeaching proceedings should be brought against any fed official who abuses his office. For example, Biden should be impeached and convicted for his Ukraine corruption, Hillary should be impeached and convicted for her mishandling of classified information, etc. After impeachment and conviction, these corrupt people should lose their pensions as well.

US District Judge Alcee Hastings was impeached, convicted and removed from office, and now he is a member in good standing of the US House of Representatives. Barring from office is an option for the Senate--see post 18.

Agree, but they can’t be now, right? I mean impeachment is used to remove people from office, once they are out (for whatever reason) that’s no longer something that can happen, is it?
