Around here some of the poorer schools in rougher areas (McKeesport, Woodland Hills, Aliquippa, Clairton) generally have some of the best teams.

Here in S.E. Michigan, there are some "newer" schools in the suburbs that look like college campuses and their football fields are small stadiums.

Several years ago when I played in a senior baseball league, we played a game at Lake Orion high school. The school was huge and the field was all artificial turf.........it was beautiful.

Have a friend whose brother was the head coach at De La Salle Collegiate in Warren, MI. They were a Div. 2 powerhouse. But just like many of the catholic schools, they recruit for their athletic programs, offering breaks in tuition costs.
