*** “I am sorry, but you are spreading the very worst kind of misinformation. You have absolutely no understanding of what you are spouting off about” ***

You are the idiot, you keep shooting Insulin (unless you are Type 1 Diabetic then that is the correct thing to do) If you are Type 2 and your Pancreas can still make enough Insulin then you don’t need to be shooting additional Insulin into your system that continues to make you more and more Insulin Resistant.

PS Your Brain Died 5 minutes ago and it didn’t need Insulin to do it ;^)

Yeah right! You have no idea what insulin even is or what it does and how important it is to our health. My wife is a nurse who taught nutrition for decades. She was also the Northwest Regional Aerobics Dance Instructor Champion when I met her. She was 110 pounds when I met her and she is a 110 pounds today and the best looking woman in her mid 6os that I have ever seen. Somehow she managed to stay slender, active and healthy eating a common sense diet that is very close to the recommendations in the “food pyramid”. Somehow I doubt whether many of the "nutritional experts" here have managed to do the same.

These nonsense fad diets have been coming and going for as long as I can remember always with a bunch of rabid enthusiasts. Fortunately most people have very little real control over themselves and cheat enough that they suffer no permanent damage. But I am old enough to have seen the long term consequences of the zealots who had enough will power to follow these fad diets sometimes all the way to their graves. It is one thing if they are just fat, inactive and have medical issues... that can just be a consequence of getting older.

The thing that I find most sad are the ones who end up with severe cognitive issues. And I have known enough people who have ended up with brains who are severely damaged to recognize what seems to be a pattern. If you deny your brain the nutrients that it needs by cutting out major food groups you most likely will suffer consequences.

The vegetarian craze was the first really detrimental “fad diet” that I became aware of. Basically every person I know who has been a dedicated vegetarian since the 1970s has either died or now has severe cognitive issues. The Atkins craze was the next that I really took notice of. It doesn't seem to take as long for people on Atkins to damage their health, and most of them give it up after a couple years, but the ones I knew who managed to keep going with it are now dead. This Paleo craze is newer, so I do not know what the outcome of that is going to be. It seems to allow a more diverse diet so it is probably not as harmful as being a vegetarian or an Atkins fanatic. If it is keeping one away from highly processed, fast foods, donuts, and candy it is probably beneficial to many. But I seriously doubt that giving up whole grains has any benefit at all.
