My Brittany is cute.... sweet... and points birds well. Open doors or do anything very cognative......not a chance.

Brittanys are generally dumb. My father bred a few and had several top specimens that were very unusual, at least to me.
Our 6 1/2 month old Cavalier is a Houdini puppy. She can get out of almost anything, baby gates, even a latched crate, can’t tell you the number of times we have thought she was secure, but come home to be met at the door by her. We have never had a smart Cavalier, so living with her is like sailing in uncharted waters.
