True. Led Zeppelin gets the award for most overplayed band on classic rock stations, with the Who nipping at their heels.

I saw them both. Great bands. But they have nothing on the Who, who composed operas that will pass the test of time, like Puccini, Bizet, et al. And then we have Emerson, Lake , and Palmer, who may not have composed operas, but their pieces have classical connections. This thread is going to be interesting.

Agreed, to an extent... Zappa was the best musician in terms of pure talent alone but Zeppelin had a group magic that none other could match.

Agreed! I hated Zappa as my older brothers played his records often! Friends took me to his concert on the pier in Manhattan that they made into a video! I was floored! Was like rock, jazz, classical and vaudeville all packed into one with precision! As a classical musician I was blown away!
I love John Paul Jones, but Jimmy Page is the most over rated guitarist ever...total slop! I think John Bonham became the most over rated drummer due to the drugs and booze!
