Feeling my age here. I either went to Fenway or watched on TV (channel 38) hundreds of Red Sox games featuring Carl Yastrzemski in center field. Number 8. Saw a number of his nearly 500 home runs as well as some great plays in center field.
He played until he was 44 years old. It's been 35 years since his last game. Can't believe his grandson is now in the majors. Good luck to him.

A GREAT career! Leftfielder/First Baseman. 1961-1983. 3419 hits, 452 home runs, .285 batting average, 1816 runs, 1844 rbi. Almost 200 stolen bases plus outstanding defense! Beyond clutch in the field and at bat during the ‘67, pennant race, ALL year long.
