I agree with you, but perhaps in their earliest incarnation, 7 years before they released the 1is of 2 albums in total, they might have focused more on Bluegrass, or Redgrass as the case may be. 8>)

They were highlighted at a Nashville event as Bluegrass. You would have to suspect that a Nashville venue would know country vs. bluegrass. 8>)

Somewhere along the way they may have drifted more towards country to capture a larger audience. Hard to tell but from the music we hear them perform definitely sounds more like country than bluegrass. I also listed 3 songs by more traditional bluegrass type music though from a more modern perspective.

Interesting! Wish them well. We have a worldwide crossover situation going on here now. Good thing the hill people don’t sue for cultural appropriation!

There’s a great Bluegrass cover of Nilsson’s “Everybody’s Talkin’”. Currently playing on Sirius/XM Bluegrass Junction channel 62.

Too bad they disbanded.

One of my favorites is the Red Army Band singing "Sweet Home Alabama."

They disbanded in 2006, shortly after their 2nd album was released. 8>)

Of course all of what I theorized in my previous post is nothing more than mere speculation, as I had never heard of them previous to today either. 8>)

I must say that the Russian singer on the Fleetwood Mac song amazed me with her singing in the fact I could detect no Russian accent. She was born and raised in Russia, because that I did look further into and verified that she wasn't of Russian descent but born here nor emigrated here at an early age.

I'm sure the mountain people are happy that their music is enjoyed finally. 8>)

BTW, going in a different yet similar direction, have you ever heard The Leningrad Cowboys:

Back in the U.S.S.R - Leningrad Cowboys & The Red Army Ensemble

They are a hoot. 8>)

Here's a Finnish band you probably have seen & heard too:

Steve'n'Seagulls - Thunderstruck

Steve'n'Seagulls - The Trooper

But just in case you haven't I think you will enjoy them as well.

I have seen their vids before -- great pickin'! Love the anvil -- nice touch. So I'll see you and raise you a Norwegian band you've probably heard, too:

Ylvis - The Fox (What Does The Fox Say?)
