COBOL: Five little letters that if put on a CV would ensure stable income for a greybeard coder

>>COBOL
I managed a COBOL compiler group for a while, and worked with Jean Sammet, who invented COBOL, when I ran computer languages and she ran History of Programming Languages and Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). I was also in the contest to design the Department of Defense Common Language (DoD/I -> Ada), which had that same goal of commonality. As for FORTRAN, I crawled around on the floor and shot video into the face of Backus, who invented FORTRAN, during one of his group meetings. And spread green clay all over his desk for a video I was making while he worked out of his house on Twin Peaks. His wide-grained oak desk. Total disaster.
