I agree with both your takes but I think it’s more than that. It’s global dominoes. Here’s my in two cents:
First part
Think: the gas crisis in the early and the late 70’s
I’m thinking its more about petro dollars and sinking the economy to prevent Trump from getting re-elected.
Ask yourself what happens when gas prices are too high? Think about: manufacturing and transportation of all goods and how high priced gas effects the price of goods and who pays those increases in cost when they make purchases.
People always change their willingness to spend when prices go up and that SLOWS the economy too.
Second part:
If we should go after Iran’s oil fields as part of a war .....ask yourself WHO gets their oil from Iran?....China is a big one. How does that help a Trade deal? It doesn’t. It just makes it even harder to get them back to the table. Finally, which oil supplying country is left untouched? My first thought is Russia.

Warren will need to come down from the heady atmosphere of RadicalStandaland to the practicalities of winning.
She will need to balance the ticket. Manchin is only pragmatic when it comes to himself. He has grand visions of himself, past that of mere senator. It might be a quick way for Warren to take 5 EVs. If selected its highly likely Manchin will wave the “Blue & Gold” and beguile WV’ians once again.
I am wondering if they are shooting for the Kavanaugh stuff to distract from the indictments. They know how
the Kavanaugh story caught so much attention before.

Manchin certainly better address those EV’s that Hilldebeast took for granted. The Dems will not make that stupid mistake again.
However, those Democrat votes in states that put Trump over the top actually got rewarded with something, for a change, as opposed to their fare under Dem prezidents. Trump offered and got Jobs and the economy turn-around is phenomenal and they know it. They never got that from Obama’s wreckage.

Agree with everything you’re saying.
However my fellow WV’ians awarded Manchin another senate term. A term he certainly didn’t deserve. He spent 8 years pretending Zero’s war on coal wasn’t happening. (He actually was a good governor! Far better then the current GOP-Then Rat-Then GOP slug we have now.) His campaign the last time to keep his senate seat consisted of nothing but endorsements from WVU sports greats - Jerry West, etc. and constant reminders that he was a native WV’iann whereas his opponent wasn’t! If he got a VEEP nomination he would pull out the same card “WV Pride” to get you to vote for the ticket. It might work!
I know that, but a lot of people might vote for him just to have a VEEP from WV.
