WH summons press for @POTUS photo op with sheriffs invited to WH. Earlier some took part in WH briefing against Sanctuary Cities.

In remarks to sheriffs, Pres slams Democrats for failure to act on securing the border. He says they won't close immigration loopholes and want open borders. "Frankly, I think they want crime," he says.

Separately, Pres signs Exec Order setting Federal policy on resettling refugees "only in those jurisdictions in which both the State and local governments have consented to receive refugees," under the State Dept's Refugee Reception and Placement Program.

Could hear what @POTUS initially told the sheriffs, but they shouted, "we got your back, Mr. President."

Trump’s meeting today with Sheriffs from all over the country must have been very uplifting for him. Glad to hear that they called out “we’ve got your back” to POTUS.
