“Pippi Longstocking” opens up a wealth of meme-possibilities, as well as many cans of worms. (Rules for Radicals #5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” Especially with the upturned braids - and the fact that the character’s author, Astrid Lindgren, was Swedish.) Evidently one of the critics of the series of books stated that Pippi was mentally disturbed. Kinda fits right in, doesn’t it?
