Asked about his pledge that Mexico would pay for the wall, @POTUS says it's “paying for 27,000 soldiers” along its borders to stop illegal crossings. Says a 5% tariff for 6 months would pay for the entire wall, "but I don't want to do that." He's happy with Mexican cooperation.

At invitation of the construction personnel, Pres Trump pulls out a Sharpie and signs one of the posts of the border wall. Other officials follow suit.

Asked what happened to his plan to have the wall painted black, @POTUS says he went along with Gen. Semonite who recommended "a good strong rust color." Trump says "it's not a big deal." Says black attracts more heat and wall can be painted at a later date if needed.

Asked about criticism of his policies today from former Natl Security Advisor Bolton, Pres says he was critical of him "for getting us involved in the Middle East." Pres also defended his North Korea policy, criticizing Bolton's call for "the Libyan model."

WH says @POTUS spoke today with British PM @BorisJohnson about "Iran's destabilizing behavior." The US blames Iran for last weekend's attack on Saudi oil facilities and @POTUS today ordered additional sanctions on Iran. Trump & Johnson to see each other next week at the UN.

Unfortunately he pretty much has lost the far right Arabs there. They are determined to not work with him. So its very confusing to say the least. It a mix of many differing groups. So to sum up my knowledge of the situation...Zip..Nada...clueless as to what will happen. Sorry.

Just got home and I am exhausted. Thank God for my DIL doing the driving. I got a request for cat scan so I can get it here and have them send the disc to Dallas. Then they'll let me know what thay need to do and make appointment. Hopefully I don't have cancer anywhere else. 🙏 I'm going to try to catch up as long as I have the energy. Thank you.

I’ve been watching for over two and a half hours. He and the crew are certainly giving the press the gold medal tour. Then he answers questions like it’s just a normal press conference. Wish they appreciated his openness with all of them and started treating him with respect.

Can’t help but think how.he would have enjoyed walking and discussing the project with his dad. That spending time at the build was another family trait Elisabeth would walk through on site with young Fred when they were first starting out. Then Fred with Donald etc. Each learning at the knee of the previous generation. Listening and learning.
