A lot of non-English speakers think it is cool to use English. When I went to Korea, I happened to arrive right after a plane full of Chinese tourists. Many of them wore t-shirts with English words. I’m pretty sure they did not know what their t-shirts said, as it was more Engrish then English.

Two things:
1) If the world is watching, you want to slap in some English. This cam be seen in public demonstrations of all types around the world.
2) "Pride" specifically in a Sodomite context is now an international word as it might be "taxi" or "OK".
