Thank you. Happily, I don’t know any of them. We were just in the SB area the week before this. Heartbreaking.

I have no sympathy now for the boat owners, captain and crew. Well done you freaking retards. I remember the owner a few days ago saying the “crew are all mariners, trained and capable”

BULLSHIT

I hope the families take them for every penny.

Forget Truth Aquatics- they’re ruined and I’m glad. 34 people! A family of 5!

It’s not going to matter what started the fire or that these poor people - did they die of smoke inhalation or what?

It’s all moot because there was no freaking watch.

Professional mariners my ass.

It was well run and one of the best operations on the West Coast

Not when it mattered.

Was it too much of a bother to have a fire and flooding watch? Not necessary? Too much work?

Great way to finish your career in the dive boat business, Truth Aquatics - you sick sonsabitches

I recall the same. Navy vet. Had to stand his share of night watches. Fire has been the enemy of sailors since history began.

Ditto. USCG vet. Stood many watches, even when in port.

Upon further reflection I considered a few points. We now know, there was no watch.

Is this a Truth Aquatics policy?

If not, did the Captain order a watch?

If so, did the crewman on watch shirk his duties?

All of these are pertinent questions with no answers forthcoming in the news media.

I can see where the chain of command could have failed.

I heard on Day 1 that there was no watch as opposed to, yes, of course there was a watch and the watchstander fell asleep or whatever. Not having a watch cannot be Truth Aquatics policy because Coast Guard regulations specifically state that there must be 24 hour watch while at anchor with passengers aboard.

At least two people are going to be charged with manslaughter - believe that. Someone’s going to prison
