Why is "colored people" a no-no while the more awkward phrase "people of color" is used by everyone on the Left?
Excellent question. I wonder that too.
WE can’t say “colored people”, but “people of color” is deemed to be ok.
I was told once we shouldn’t say “crippled” anymore, that you should say “challenged”.
I understand language can change, but, I don’t understand how formerly acceptable terms are now said to be offensive.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People can’t use that name for the people they purport to represent.
Ditto for the United Negro College Fund.
