I’m a few years older and mostly a child of the 60s, but some of the bands of the 80s brought back the same vibe, and the new wave groups you mentioned are right up with the best on my list of faves.
I heard Byrne’s current tour is a must-see. Other than the white hair, he looks pretty much like he did then. Obviously takes good care of himself.

Sometimes, I just have to accept the fact, that artists are always going to be liberal, it just comes with the territory.
But it would be nice, if they were more “classic liberals” than the bastardized version that it is today.
I got some groceries, some peanut butter to last a couple of days.

Agree- love the lyrics. I cant pick just one favorite line but the burning keeps me alive..
It’s interesting to hear other people singing their songs in a warmer, less detached style, like the performances in the movie “True Stories” (especially Pops Staples singing “Papa Legba”), or Mavis Staples singing “Slippery People.”
My fave line is: “We got computers. We’re tapping phone lines. You know that that ain’t allowed.”
