This is an excellent idea. One of the things that discourages adoption is the possibility of the birth parents getting the kid back. I’ve read about some of the expensive and emotionally-draining legal tangles involved.

I hope they are careful about how the law was worded. Years ago, Nebraska tried something like this for unwanted children and parents were dropping of teenagers.
