Agreed. Townsend readily admits he’s not a great guitarist but his real skill is arranging music. I have to concur with him. John and Keith made that band IMO.

Pete is a good rhythm guitarist, and he’s pretty good on Acoustic.
Some say he’s a sloppy lead player, but it works.
I find myself a lot of times preferring Pete’s Original Demos to the finished product.
