As if Baltimore doesnt have enough problems on its hands, it seems that theyve still been unable to get the epidemic of squeegee kids under control. In case youre not familiar with this phenomenon, gangs of younger people (not all of whom are actually children by the way) show up at city intersections with traffic lights carrying buckets of presumably soapy water and squeegees. The deal is that if they run up to a stopped car that is trapped in traffic at the light and wash the windshield, they expect the driver to give them money.

On the other hand, they typically do a very good job of cleaning your windshield, and know how to avoid leaving streaks. They’re very fast.
. It is very intimidating to have someone get very close to your side window with a bucket of soapy water and a squeegee. Somehow the city doesnt seem to get the correlation between driver intimidation and a decrease in attendance at various city attractions.
WHAT??? Capitalist free enterprise conservatives knocking entrepreneurship? All good until it’s personally inconvenient? They are trying to be productive and WORK instead of trying to steal or deal drugs and this concept is being knocked?
Where can we buy those South African car flame throwers I’ve seen on U tube?
Aww, look at you, pretend to know what you’re talking about.
Sarcasm, but seriously it’s a good question. Do capitalists support capitalism OR NOT? Only selectively? :)
It’s been 35-30 years now, but we drove to Florida once and our car windshield got blasted from bugs hitting it.
I stopped at a Do-It-Yourself carwash to spray down the windshield and there were groups of teenagers at each stall that wanted to get paid for holding the wand and spraying down your car or car windshield.
When they got aggressive about it (I was still in the car with my family), I quickly drove off.
Several months ago I was filling up at the WAWA gas station on Easyern Ave and I95. A young feral walked up and stole the squeegee. I yelled at him that it wasnt his to take but for guys like me that were filling their tanks and paying for it.
We talked for a minute and it became clear that he had never actually paid for anything in his life. He either stole it or we the people paid for it.
Obviously capitalists support capitalism.
Trolls like you, on the other hand, like to pretend that socially sanctioned terrorism is somehow the equivalent, and flatter themselves that they’re asking “the hard questions.”
Get lost.
I have been a self employed capitalist business owner all my life and have done fairly well. Either you believe in it or not. And I started with washing windshields for tips. Got to start somewhere to acquire the morals and discipline to be productive. :)
Derogatory name calling is unnecessary and lacking in intellect. You tell me to get lost when it was you who personally engaged me first.
If you didn’t want to hear what I might say then why engage? I owed you a reply out of courtesy for your efforts and that is what I did. Now I am a troll for doing so?
Where is your self responsibility for your own actions in this? My first statement was sarcasm, you chose to extend it more with self righteousness not me.
“knocking entrepreneurship?”
No, knocking lack of respect for personal property. I’m all for someone trying to work, but not at the expense of my property.
Now that was a good objective rebuttal and I understand. I was just being a little sarcastic with this. But personally, it would not bother me. If these are kids, I can appreciate the willingness and effort to be industrious, this direction far outweighs my slight inconvenience.
Makes me happy to see kids get off their butts and make an effort in the right direction. And it’s not about me or mine at all, in the bigger picture this country really could use much more of this direction. And until we support, reward, and promote this direction wherever we see it, it will never happen and we will never get it fixed.
A slight inconvenience is a small sacrifice if it can change the direction of these kids in the hood. And if they don’t break anything on my car, then they are not really hurting anything.
