Oh really?

Not many people with a plain old ford Taurus, or any other car???

No wonder Google has so much money!!!

Best buddy has a Kit Fox he built and I have been up in that little tail dragger. Is your’s bigger?

We have two airplanes one is a Piper Cherokee which is a standard tricycle gear low wing general aviation airplane and is bigger than a Kitfox. The other is a Skypup which is a homemade ultralight which weighs only 235 pounds. It has a Rotax 277 28hp single cylinder snowmobile engine and is made out of Styrofoam sheets and thin aircraft plywood. Mine doesn't have a windshield, but sitting right behind the engine blocks most of the wind. Maybe I should electrify it. It is also 30 years old and could use a paint job. It is a great little flyer.

Perfect for Europe, where a car is only needed for short urban transport.

Unfortunately, Europeans spend all their money on “renewable” electricity bills.

9 grand is a good price.

That sounds like it gives you a poetic surprise either way:   "The Skypup is up!", or, "The Skypup ain't up!".

100 miles on a charge....unless you charge your phone. Then it goes down to 75 miles.

Yes, but if you have friend with a fully charged phone, get an extra 25 miles!

“Without Lucas Industries involved?”

Do they still own the patent for short circuits?

[09/02/2020] The Truth About Tesla's 400 Mile Range. Not Cheating, Better At The Game. Porsche Taycan Turbo vs Tesla Model S Long Range Plus. How in the world is the Tesla capable of literally double the Porsche's range: 402 miles versus 201 miles. Speculation often goes as follows: 1. Tesla is cheating and lying about their actual range figures. False! 2. The EPA is in love with Tesla and gives them favorable results. False! 3. Porsche is sandbagging, understating the true range of their cars by publishing conservative figures about range. Mostly false! In this video we'll dive into how Tesla achieves a 201 mile range advantage over the Porsche Taycan, by analyzing EPA testing, battery capacity, powertrain and regenerative braking efficiency, voluntary range reductions, and the differences in road load (resistive forces) acting on each vehicle. [2019] How The Best Automatic Transmission Works. ZF's 8-Speed Auto can give modern dual clutch transmissions a run for their money. It's light, compact, quick-shifting, and shifts are incredibly smooth. The automatic transmission was a game changer. No longer were three pedals required, drivers could relax as they had one less thing to worry about on the road. But the automatic transmission had many flaws. It was inefficient, shifts were slow and often rough, and automatics were big and heavy. ZF introduced the world's first production 6-speed auto in the 2002 BMW 7-series, but just a year later VW introduced the first production DCT in the European market Golf R32. The dual clutch was faster to shift, efficient, and gave drivers a direct feel. Was this the end for modern automatics? Not quite. ZF introduced their 8HP, an 8 speed automatic that swept the industry as a result of it's shift quality, shift speed, efficiency, size, and cost. We'll learn all about it in the video.

[2020] Today I received a letter with this title: "Volkswagen is using Tesla batteries" to store energy through the Tesla Powerpack and to sell it through Electrify America. There was a link to a discussion at Tesla Motors Club and the writer was asking if anyone can verify this information. I checked the link (see below) and found this text in the discussion where a user, named Tim S had posted this picture from a Walmart area from Albany, NY on August 19, writing the following message.
"There is construction going on at the Electrify America chargers at our local Walmart (Albany NY). I spoke to the guy in charge of the work and he told me they are installing Tesla Powerpacks (he called them BESS - Battery Energy Storage System). The idea is to charge the Powerpacks overnight when electricity is cheap, then use them to charge EVs (mostly non-Tesla) through the Electrify America chargers. I wonder how widespread this is?" "I will swing by next week to try to get pics after the Powerpacks are installed," he wrote.
Yesterday, he went to this Electrify America location again and wrote the following update today.
"I stopped by yesterday at the Electrify America chargers at the local Walmart. Unfortunately, the guy working there had just finished hiding the Tesla logo on the batteries installed there. You can still see Tesla red. He said they aren't "Powerpacks" but they are Tesla BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems). "He said they hide the Tesla logo because Electrify America (VW) doesn't want to publicize the fact they are using Tesla batteries. He said they are doing this "all over the place". The goal is 400 locations by year's end. I think he meant across the US. "He's from the NYC area, 150 miles from here. He was driving a Black Model S with chrome delete. I didn't get a pic."
Here is coverage by Torque News Tesla reporter Paul Fosse
The thing is Volkswagen owns Electrify America. Electrify America is one of the largest open DC Fast Charging networks in the United States, investing $2 billion over a 10-year span in Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure, education, and access. It is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group of America, established in late 2016 by the automaker as part of its efforts to offset emissions in the wake of the Volkswagen emissions scandal. What do you make of this news, friends? Do you think there is a special new and not-yet-announced deal between Volkswagen and Tesla about VW using Tesla's Powerpack to power Electrify America DC Fast Chargers? In less than a month ago, I wrote about the growing relations between Volkswagen and Tesla and that a merger may also be possible one day...
And now we see this new development of VW using Tesla Powepacks to store energy at a cheaper cost during the night hours for Electrify America to seel it at a higher cost, which makes good business sense... This is Armen Hareyan from Torque News.
