I'd have to agree with that. Staffy's are leaner, taller, and usually have a narrower face but they are just as fearless and protective in my experience.

They are pit bull, just a slightly different version. Same disposition. Velcro dogs. Although my daughter's is fearless in some ways, she won't get into the kitchen trash because when the bag crinkles it scares her LOL.

Mine doesn't like anything mechanical or things that make loud (to her) noises. Like people; she avoids things she doesn't understand. Not really a fear; an avoidance.
