WTF Moment of the Week: Is UT Athletics so petty they put the LSU band in the nose bleed seats? I have been watching college football for 35 years and I cannot remember seeing anything like that before. UT put the entire bloc of seats meant for LSU fans in the nose bleed sections. I hope there is some Cajun payback when UT makes the return visit to Baton Rogue.
I thought West Virginia would be better.
One of their fans posts sometimes on the OSU forum, the one in Oklahoma. He said that Coach Brown had said that he had better talent at Troy.
At the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, bands of the opponent used to be allowed to sit near the field. But several years ago, during a game between the USC Trojans and the Cal Commies, a member of the Commie band threw a firework onto the field in an apparent attempt to spook Traveler, the horse who serves as USC's mascot--which could have had catastrophic results in a crowded stadium had he succeeded. But Traveler was unfazed.
Thanks to that that idiot Commie, opposing bands now have to sit way up in the stands well beyond the end zone where they can cause no harm.
“UT put the entire bloc of seats meant for LSU fans in the nose bleed sections”
Been watching for a long time as well. The first LSU football game that I remember was the Halloween 1959 Ole Miss game....I was two and a half years old.
I noticed the nose-bleed seats, too. Pretty bad visual....however, I didn’t hear anything from the commentators...musta’ been Longhorn fans.
Do some research.
Every major schol has similar policies regarding opposing fans.
Typically a school gives4000 to 5000 tix to opposing schools. Tickets are in various places around a stadium.
It is up to the visiting school to alot the tix
So it was LSU’s choice where to place their band and where to place the fans who bought their tix ftom LSU
