Anyone remember when VEE (Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis) swept up from South America, through Mexico and into the US back around 1993-94? It hit the horse herds bad, and infected some people.

Wonder if this is the same thing.

It is not the same, but it is a closely related virus. Either one can kill you.

WOOPS! I got the dates wrong! I did not proofread. the actual dates should be 1963-1964, thirty years earlier.
