The “vape crisis” is one being massaged and promoted by Big Tobacco.

Your first statement throws doubt on what may be good info to follow. Big tobacco is heavily invested in vaping; they are the biggest players. I worked as a leader on our Hazmat team for many years. People have different tolerances to chemical agents. But your lungs are one of the quickest way to get many types of chemicals into your bloodstream. I am sure that many of the popular ingredients have not been tested on human subjects with this route of exposure. I have read that in addition to vitamin e one of the primary ingredients that seems to be associated with the deaths and severe illnesses are derived from marijuana.

Step aside from reviewing the "process" of the vaping materials (the pellets or whatever), and consider the power invested in Big Tobacco's billions paid in federal tax revenue giving them leverage at the "legislative table". This is what was the goals for creating Bur. of Alc, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives--- from that perspective. The phrase from history (can't remember who is credited with it) is: "If one can tax a thing he can control a thing"-- hence the use of "tax laws" to control things that are societal unhealthy or even deadly things-- for a "greater good". A quote from Thomas Paine sums up my point in the observation about "Big Tobacco" (and I understand yours as a Hazmat responder)-- that this is being manipulated: "It is from the power of taxation being in the hands of those who can throw so great a part of it from their own shoulders, that it has raged without a check.” ― Thomas Paine, Rights of Man Having business friends in the biggest tobacco state-NC- who are in the lobbying game-- can tell you that Tobacco wants to be the only way people could be "hooked" on nicotine. Their investment is to study how they could acquire the vape business-- just as they have moved into the "marijuana legalization" moves by investing in Big Cannabis (whose chief lobbyist is, btw, John-alkie-Boehner).
