Maybe … if Virginia pols don’t throw a fit about changing the name. But Ashburn, imho, would be a mistake. It’s basically West Timbuctoo. It’s ok for Loudon, Fairfax and Montgomery fans, but it’s terrifically inconvenient for three quarters of the metro area. A central location has a lot to recommend it, if one can be found.
Ashburn has land and wealth. Plus metro soon to include the rest of dc.
