My guess is whoever wasted their time studying this doesn’t have a tattoo.

Agreed. I am living proof that isn’t true. I think everything through and weigh my options when I make major decisions. Hell, I don’t even permit myself impulse buys when I grocery shop.

I also designed my own tattoo, and it has emotional meaning. I didn’t just decide, “Hey, I’m gonna get a random tat!”. Not how that went. I also had a friend of mine, who does tattoos professionally, do the inking.

Many people get tattoos to commemorate loved ones lost, or time spent in the military or as a first responder. They also cover scars that burden them, such as those caused by a violent relationship in the past, an organ transplant or other medical procedure, or again, scars from time spent in the military.

And let us not forget those like the Samoans who have tattoos because it is a tradition in their culture. I suppose they are also reckless and impulsive in their decisions.
