I left my 8 mile commute in Seattle for a 75 mile commute in Kentucky. The Kentucky commute takes longer, but not much longer. When I visit relatives in Seattle, I’m appalled at what people put up with there. Thank God I’m the only one driving on the shoulder on I-5 and I 405 or I’d never get anywhere.

Oh it has gotten far worse....
I worked at a company that moved about 15 minutes closer to me.
It took me a week or two to get used to the loss of “alone time” in the car.
At least for the morning commute.
