Are you sure you are not talking about the Berlin Air Lift - right after The Wall was built? I don't think there were enough relief supply planes in existence at the time of the London bombings to land there every two minutes.

You’re right! I should have said Berlin. I watched “DUNKIRK” and “The Battle of Britain” Sunday, and had London on my mind, all through that post!
