Authorities say they have identified a group of teenagers suspected of swimming in a water tower after video surfaced.
The Snohomish Police Department says the suspects hopped a fence, cut through two locks, scaled the 80-foot (24-meter) tower and jumped inside Snohomish's water reservoirs.
Authorities say a YouTube video shows at least one suspect jumping in the water, and charges are expected to be filed against the group... Officials say water quality tests have been conducted and the water is considered safe to drink.

I thought at first they meant they were going to start charging a regular fee!
Kids being kids. Only problem is they have camera/phones to record all their antics! Turn the phones off and have fun! But then again everyone else has cameras around their houses, business’s, etc... So they still have fun but get caught. Poor kids these days.
Didn’t the girls on Petticoat Junction swin in the water tower?
I think part of the problem may be that the water is treated prior to being used to fill the tower.
Don’t know about you, but I’m not sure I’d want to drink water that a couple of teenage boys had bathed in.

Throw the book at them this is unacceptable. This isn’t some little indiscretion like trafficking in national security secrets on a secret web server or leaking classified meetings with the President to the media in order to take down a duly elected President. Those things can be overlooked but swimming in water tower we just can’t afford to let that go. We must prosecute in this case.
Yes brings back memories. I remember seeing that show as a little boy, and thinking they must be naked in there.
On a slightly related topic, does anyone know how water in a water tower is prevented from freezing during winter? I can’t believe the towers are heated. Is the water just recirculated constantly? Are the towers drained before cold weather sets in?
