She had connections to some beautiful actresses. I remember watching “Dobie Gillis” and having a bit of a crush on Tuesday Weld. She could be funny too.

you have lived a wonderful life when you are remembered for bringing laughter and smiles. Thanks for the memories Valerie

RIP. Of the main “Rhoda”, Julie Kavner is the only one left with us still, as Harold Gould (2010), Nancy Walker (1992), Lorenzo Music (2001), and David Groh (2008) have since passed on along with Valerie now. Of the main MTM cast, it is Ed Asner, Gavin MacLeod, Joyce Bulifant, John Amos, Cloris Leachman, and...Betty White who are still with us.

Aww...What a funny lady she was. Rest in peace, "Rhoda," and thanks for the laughs.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her. By the mercy of God may she rest in peace. Amen.

Harper, who was raised in the Catholic faith, instantly transformed into Marys slightly neurotic, quintessentially Jewish sidekick.
She played a VERY convincing New York Jewess.

She brought a lot of happiness and is fondly remembered.
While she’s not in this ABC promo from 1979, many of her contemporaries are and it’s rather shocking to realize how many are gone, and how many before their time. While Valerie’s last years were hard she fought hard as long as she could, may she RIP.
