I have been to Upper Darby. I took my daughters and a friend to see a K-Pop group playing at a theater there. Glad we got out of there alive.
Upper Darby used to be an upper middle class neighborhood in the 50’s and 60’s. The Tower theater was a classy movie and then music venue. Seems like the West Philly culture has spread to the suburbs. Both my wife and I went to high school in Upper Darby; she at the public high school where these kids are from, and I went to Bonner, the Catholic school down the street. Doubt any of the Bonner guys in their still worn uniforms were in this crowd. Notice no pictures shown of who they were.
I used to live in Delco and it has turned into a complete sh*thole and a typical suburban ghetto of black and white trash. It happens quite simply when the original demographic (Irish,Italian and other European) and the predominate church (Catholic)leave and is replaced by those who have to escape/immigrate from sh*thole Philadelphia but just turn their new colony into a sh*thole. The other assumption is quite easy that Democrats run the sh*tholes.
Must have been the Tower Theater, where I saw David Bowie on the Ziggy Stardust tour in what -- '72? And Springsteen before he became a hater. He had amps the size of sportscars. That was the last concert I went to without earplugs.
I sympathize about what you experienced exiting out of there, presumably at night. Sad what it has now become around there. Did they have any kind of secured parking?
What is a 'K-Pop' group? I unplugged in 2012 so color me ignorant!
