Hotel occupancy in the Bahamas in the first half of 2019 was up 19% from a year earlier, according to hotel-data firm STR. Revenue per available room, a popular industry metric, was up 27% to $231. Nearby destinations rates have fallen or stayed flat.

I’m calling bullcrap. It’s just the ChiComs laundering money and getting it out of the mainland before everything goes chop suey.
Hotels are one of the single greatest money laundering opportunities. Ask the Pritzkers of Chicago. Just because the room is booked and paid for doesn’t mean anyone actually stayed in it.

Yes.If you go and stay in say Port Lucaya, it is safe as they rely on tourista dollars. Wander off on Grand Bahamas Highway you may be stopped and robbed or worse.
We just went to Grand Bahama over New Years and had a great time
If youre American if you go anywhere in the Bahamas theres no customs and you fly through Nassau or Grand Bahama thats a big advatntage so you dont have to wait in those long lines in Miami
