That’s nice. They have a grand piano in the greenspace at MD Anderson Cancer Center and volunteers come an play. I used to love to go over there and sit and listen when I worked in the medical center.

I’m always grateful for the people who play in public locations. Some, like Joe Blanchard, do it out of his real desire to help people in emotional pain. When cancer sufferers come up to him and tell him how his music has helped them, that’s the payment that pleases him. Some, like that gentleman I assume was a gypsy playing in the parking lot the other day, or the gentleman who played the glasses on the boardwalk in Quebec City, obviously do it for money, but they also bring such unexpected joy to the day. And with YouTube, these musicians are EVERYWHERE and accessible.
Joe, by the way, is by profession an electrician. Composing and playing music is his avocation.
