I always loved her rendition of nothing compares to you. Prince (died in an elevator) wrote that song which she performed so beautifully.
I never ever read lyrics or concerned myself with lyric meaning. I was a melody/beat music listener. Now I am studying the lyrics and my eyes are helping me hear and be a better listener. I study songs now and listen while reading the lyrics and read background on the artists. Can’t help but open the eyes.
When she sings about flowers planted in the backyard all died when mama went away sends chills up my spine because now all I can think of is Q and all the flower gardens.
