Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention.
It changed my perspective on what Trump is doing and I also learned a lot of things which, if true and they seem verifiable, I did not know and am interested in. There were some things said in passing that I wish I could hear more about. What Trump is doing still seems like too much too fast but maybe it has to be this way because we have engaged with no consequence instead of confronting China to make something good for us happen.
I never heard of the outfit that is doing the interview but it is supposed to be like a TED talk for Finance. I sure would like to see the tail numbers on those jets but they did a good job of keeping it anonymous.
I thought Bannon needed to leave the Trump Administration because he is a slob and a nut. This interview softens my view about him being a nut.
He is a Trump insider and still is from what I can see.
He is very well informed or so it would appear.
He is a nationalist and a hawk and for that he is right but potentially dangerous. 72 hours is not long to rig down.
I did not like him because he worked for Goldman but he does not flatter them and their kind. So maybe. I still think Goldman and their kin are in cahoots with the devil.
He has a unique view on what is happening with China. If it is not right it is at least thought provoking. Interesting points made on Ding vs. Xi.
I do hope Trump gets to continue this fight but he isn’t doing things to help that on the home front. He is running a great gamble and risk that he will make something good of this and get reelected before it all goes to hell in a hand basket and he does not.
Maybe the Chicoms blinked tonight and maybe they are just buying time. Time will tell.
In this interview Bannon reminds me of a much more articulate version of a fellow I once worked with who, while genius or is it idiot savant, was good to have around but you needed to keep him out of sight or in a room that said, “Break glass only in emergency”.
Steve’s great asset is that, like Newt Gingrich, he is an ultra-broad thinker who understands the connections of many, many things. His great liability is that his focus on doing any ONE thing is short-lived. Remember “We’re gonna primary every single RINO incubent” in 2018? After hurling in an incompetent and unelectable Roy Moore, that totally disappeared. Then it was they were going to do a MAGA movement for Europe.
To be an advisor in the White House, you need more than great ideas, which is why Gingrich isn’t in there. You have to be an absolute “Indian,” not a chief. You can’t talk to the press and show your brilliance. That’s not either Newt or Steve.
Right now the best thing he can do is hundreds of these interviews warning about China.
