How is this a CRIMINAL matter?
Bribery?
Federal government involvement in giving money to colleges.
Not-for-profit status of public universities.
Equal protection under the law.
Civil rights.
Must be some mumbo jumbo that covers this.
I occasionally hear that we are a nation of laws. I think there are lots of them.
And remember - laws are for the little people.

I bet there are some tax implications also involved.
Don’t know, just guessing.
Let’s say your kid wants to go to one of these schools...
If you donate $500,000 to the football program, to the booster club, or to the endowment to get your kid in, it’s OK.
If you donate $500,000 to a third party to get your kid in, it’s not OK.
What am I missing?
