Growing up in the 70’s we did acid, pcp, cocaine, pot, alcohol and mushrooms. The difference today is the availability and non-nonchalant attitude towards heroin.
The over-prescribing of legal painkillers is much more of a problem today than in the past; it is responsible for a real demographic change in drug addiction. It has spread this problem into intact middle- and upper-class families like nothing else has; instead of the black sheep in those families dabbling, law-abiding people are caught up in this and ruined.
