Denmark subsidizes Greenland with approximately $500 million a year.
The population is 56,000 so that’s almost $10,000 per person per year.
I understand that Denmark can easily afford that subsidy. But still Greenland is a liability to them. It’s an ongoing liability with no end in sight.
Trump could probably turn it around and make it profitable.

President Trump realizes her grasp of the geopolitical situation is beyond her understanding. Is China’s control over Greenland less absurd? I think not from a geopolitica position. China has designs for Greenland’s rich deposits for zinc and iron. It also wants control for a strategic military position. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is ignoring the reality of China’s intentions for Greenland. Perhaps Trump can get her to look at the big picture by making her feel the embarrassment of her thinking.
