He might as well end it, it’s a lot less paperwork when you buy your U.S. citizenship from a sleazy, Mexican “coyote” or a Chinese travel agent peddling pregnancy vacations to the Mariana Islands.

It’s only “the law” by an intentional misreading of the actual law. The Democrats obstinate insistence that administrative fiat is law doesn’t make it so. Trump could change the administrative requirements through executive order and force the issue. Of course, he should wait until he appoints the next justice.
But for me the big question is how do you determine citizenship then?
Test? Pledge? How do I prove I'm a US citizen?
He can look at it all he wants, but it would take either an amendment or a Supreme Court ruling to change it.

No other country has this. I knew an American woman in France who was born there to American parents. She never lived anywhere else. And she had to apply for work permits to get a job. She was still not able to be French.
It’s just good that he is announcing it as an option. Of course this is a constitutional amendment situation. I think it could be very simple. All who are born on American soil to legal citizens and residents. No tourists or students or illegals. Perfect.
If someone gives Birth while visiting your House, I guess you have to let the Kid live there for the rest of their Lives.

The 14th ammendment is about freed slaves who had no country and were not subject to any other jurisdiction. A foreign citizen is subject to the jurisdiction of their country of origin.
It’s gonna get done one way or the other...in FL, all these Chinese and Russian pregnant women that I know of get US citizenship like a lottery system.
