All, information on this, indicates that Sessions found out about the SC about the same time Trump did. Sessions offered his resignation at the time, Trump refused it, but told Sessions, my presidency is "blanked now."

Because Sessions recused himself, he was completely out of the picture and had delegated all things Russian to rosenstein. Sessions had no say at all in the matter, and was likely not even consulted.
