I believe it was chosen because autists were open to it, good at solving puzzles, and skilled at research - and because it is in a place online that won’t be shut down via corporate or political pressure.

When you realize that much of the bad stuff posted there was done so intentionally to give it a bad reputation with the public and drive people away it won’t seem so strange anymore.

The chans are free speech zones, and along with free speech, you get anyone saying/posting anything. The only line drawn is things illegal, as it should be.

The Q team posts there because that's where the autists are. These folks are obsessed with finding the truth. It's what they do. They love a puzzle, but lack some civility. The chans is where real free speech lives. It ain't always pretty, but it's free.
