If my memory is correct didn’t Ryan announce he was stepping down prior to the midterms? If so then Cates is not correct stating the house was lost to get rid of Ryan.
Someone above said that Ryan said he was retiring in mid April some time.
I am wondering if Trump said/did things that made it clear to R traitors/wrongdoers in the House that he would not be supporting them; otherwise why did so many “retire”, some before their terms were up (IIRC)? Surprising so many left. I think a lot of people assumed that they “got the message”.
