I live in Sun City, Hilton Head, where ANOTHER person was just attacked by an alligator while in the yard with her dog. They keep telling me alligators are "part of the landscape and ambiance". And that we need to learn to live with them. A 9-foot reptile, with the brain the size of a kernel of corn that is basically programmed to EAT YOU, is treated like some kind of worshipped deity. They are killers and anything over 5 feet long, in a senior community, should be killed. PERIOD!!!
This "problem" is why I CCW in Sun City. I'm not "hunting" for them, but I wouldn't hesitate to protect myself. However, if I ever shot one, I'd probably go to jail. (If they caught me!, otherwise I'd shoot another one!).
