Problem is more than obvious.
One gator got in a few years ago and everyone said it was cute and was followed by others and everyone said it was cute and someone in charge suggested putting them back in their habitat and since it was/is a government facility, permission had to be gotten and then environmentalists stepped in and said the gator had as much right to be there basking in the mud puddle so a hold was put on removing the gators- MEANWHILE one of the gators that got ejected before EPA and PETA etal stepped in, got back to the herd and told all about the freebies at the NAS so there was a surge of gators until someone said why don’t you people put up a fence or two and stem the flow of gators and then Congress acted and said it was a given right for the gators to be there and if nothing else we would be granting amnesty in one year to the gators already there and the word got back to gator land and the dumb gators were told better get to NAS JAX now and take advantage of the amnesty coming up and it escalated from there.
