Battery efficiency, life and replacement costs?

Battery life in ultra hot Phoenix was not that great when I used to live there.

Battery power was often inconveniently MIA in the ultra cold midwestern winters when I used to live there.

Today, batteries are not all that inexpensive to replace, but with a flat road or just a small incline to get it rolling, I could still start the truck, even if the battery was dead.
