It was really a sad time.

Yes, when vin Scully was still announcing, he would tell stories - as only he could - about Brooklyn. Many of the old Brooklyn Dodgers have passed away throughout the years, but Vin would have them in the booth & talk to them while announcing the game. They were always a big part of the team, teaching the younger guys, especially when the Dodgers still trained at Vero Beach. Sandy Koufax is still around & has been a very big influence on Klayton Kershaw as well as other pitchers.

the dodgers are going to get the All Star Game next year, and will be modernizing their stadium adding a Koufax statue outside next to Jackie Robinson's.

My mom and dad lived close to Vero Beach and we would take in a game on spring break. Gosh the setting of palm trees lining the center field...beautiful. And the players would be talking to each other in the outfield about their fishing the day before.
