You would think that whoever is in charge of these awards shows would be in danger of losing their jobs, or that the networks would decide to just drop these shows, but I get the feeling neither of those is going to happen.

Propaganda does not operate on the capitalist profit model. The multinational corporations that run these award shows and have media outlets are willing to lose money to get the results they want.

I’m not surprised they run dreck. With the increased reruns of shows, as NBC does with America’s Got Talent and many game shows that ran just days before, the networks demonstrate they have run out of gas. Now they grasp at straws.
