The real contest comes in 2024. All the “also-rans” are positioning for that slot.

Good question. No disrespect intended for Vice President Pence, but we should be thinking about putting someone in position to run in 2024. I don't think it's him.
But then again, I didn't think he was a very good choice in 2016, and he proved me wrong.

The GOP will.not have a force of nature such as Trump in 2024. Good question as to what happens after the Trump presidency.
