Believe me, I’m an Appalachian American from eastern Kentucky, GO BIG BLUE, and these accents are only believable to non-southerners.

In addition to a Kentucky accent, there is an accent for each state. And the Black people from the Shenandoah Vally, Virginia have a wonderfully distinct and pleasant accent. A modern day Henry Higgins could place the accent to the specific holler.

What county in Eastern Kentucky? I tried to go to school in Breathitt County in 1973.

I was raised in Floyd Co, town of Martin. There’s actually a wonderful book about my little town. It really is a great read.

The Town on Beaver Creek: The Story of a Lost Kentucky Community, https://www.amazon.com/Town-Beaver-Creek-Kentucky-Community/dp/0375509054, if you’re into Appalachian history and culture.
